I focus on helping adults and young adults cope with various life challenges. I also work with individuals from marginalized communities to overcome challenges like understanding racial identity, concerns that arise within interracial relationships, and other stressors that stem from marginalization. I also specialize in working with betrayed partners from relationships that experience infidelity, sex addiction, or other compulsive sexual behaviors.
You are seen and heard, and together, we will work to empower you to live the life you want to live. As a counselor, I look forward to creating a collaborative partnership where I can help you navigate life’s challenges and discover your path to personal growth and fulfillment.
Education & Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University in 2016 and completed my Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University, a CACREP accredited graduate program. My formal education, both undergraduate and graduate, has prepared me to counsel individuals and couples. Additionally, I am trained in Brainspotting, a modality that can access traumas stored in the subcortical brain. Brainspotting incorporates aspects of both EMDR and Somatic techniques.
I started working at IRR when I was a student intern at Southern Methodist University’s Counseling Program. Since starting at IRR, I have worked with individuals and couples, and have co-facilitated a betrayed partner’s therapy group with Erin Wysong-Warren, LPC-S, CSAT, CPTT, SEP, Founding Owner and Clinical Director at IRR. I have also co-facilitated workshops with Erin for female identifying enmeshed adults as well as intensives for developmental/family of origin trauma.
Other experience includes working as a program therapist at Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center, where I led therapy groups for adults and adolescents experiencing mood and anxiety disorders. I also volunteered at SafeHaven, a shelter for female survivors of domestic violence and their families. Before that, I worked as an educator throughout various school districts for seven years.
Personal Focus
Negative or unhelpful thoughts are the driving force behind distress that impairs our daily lives. While having negative thoughts from time to time isn’t bad, ruminating on hardship can cause our focus to be solely on our problems instead of solutions or gratitude for other parts of our lives.
Your thought patterns dictate so much of your life. I want to help you become aware of what is going on in your mind and take control by learning new ways of thinking and developing healthy coping mechanisms to reframe challenges and function at your best.
A favorite quote of mine (and one you will likely hear if you meet with me) is, "Success is not in the outcome but in the effort made.” If you are ready to take this journey together, please do not hesitate to contact me.
