Reclaiming Your Voice: Empowering Partners of Enmeshed Adults

A Workshop for Partners of Enmeshed Adults

This 2-day workshop is intended for partners of adults enmeshed with a parent or family that report feeling marginalized and second in importance compared to the parent or family of their spouse/partner. They have lost a sense of their value and legitimacy in their relationship.

This educational workshop will help spouses or partners of enmeshed adults:

  • Understand the lack of commitment on behalf of their partner

  • Reduce confusion, personalization, and feelings of diminishment

  • Face the impact of enmeshment and receive support and validation for losses that have occurred

  • Clarify desires and needs in the relationship

  • Create a self-care plan

Erin was a great facilitator and she even shared her own personal experiences with enmeshment, which was incredibly helpful, validating, and helped make the space feel safe to share. The biggest value of the workshop in my opinion was the opportunity to share my story with other women who have had similar experiences with enmeshed partners. Hearing from and connecting with the other group members in a safe and structured environment pulled me out of my isolation bubble and helped me feel so much less alone. It was so validating to hear their stories. Dr. Adam’s videos, books, and workshops have helped me recognize and name the enmeshment that my partner struggles with, and ultimately helped me rediscover myself and finally move forward with my life toward something more fulfilling and closer to what I truly deserve.

This workshop far exceeded my expectations as to what I would get out of it. I thought I’d pick up a few tips and coping mechanisms, but I think it was something of a watershed moment in my life. Not only did I get so much insight into how deeply enmeshment has pervaded my life, but also some direction as to how to start to fix that.
